A: Mayfield.

Q: What position do you play?

A: Midfield or Halfback.

Q: Biggest influence on career?

A: Pat Fitz, Ryan Giggs, Paddy Flynn in St. Johns school!

Q: What players do you admire (past, present)?

A: Larry Tompkins, Kieran Brosnan, John’Langton’Fitzgerald.

Q: Most memorable game as a player?

A: Beating Nemo in Junior Football Championship in 2006, 9 points down at half time!

Q: Most memorable game as a fan?

A: Cork vs. Dublin last year…we shut the dubs up!

A: Have two weeks off in middle of summer so people can book holidays without worrying about missing championship.

A: Make the piches sand based, new floodlights, and then im off to L.A, Buy a house in Kerry.

A: My Family and anyone who trained a team I was playing on.

A: Richard O Keeffe and Steffan Effenburg.

A: Any of the under 21 finals we won and the under 16 county final against Killeagh for the wrong reasons.

A: 1999 All-Ireland Hurling Final

A: Football, Hurling, Astroturf, socialising, sleeping!.

A: Better organisation of Club Championships, The gap between games can be too long.

A: Winning U16 County Final along time ago!!.

A: 1999 All-Ireland Hurling Final

A: Seanie O Donovan, John Boylan, James Varian, Tony Hegarty

A: Ronan Curran, John Gardiner, Diarmuid O'Sullivan and James Varian.

A: Under 14 County Final, Junior A City Hurling final 2010, Junior A County Hurling Semi-Final 2010 and Harty Cup Final.

A: Mayfield Hurling & Football and Leeside.

Q: What position do you play?

A: Full back, too fat & slow for centre back.

Q: Biggest influence on career?

A: Martin Cronin & Tony Hegarty, he knows the reasons.

Q: What players do you admire (past, present)?

A: Pat Peate, Graham Canty and the Scannells for showing their resilience year after year even though all they do is complain about it, sunshine players!!

Q: Most memorable game as a player?

A: City final 2001 against the Barrs, I scored 1-2 from corner back, I was fit in those days!

Q: Most memorable game as a fan?

A: The last few Tipperary versus Kilkenny matches have been crackers.

Q: Hobbies?

A: Doing chores around the house!!

Q: Favourite TV?

A: A big 50 inch flat screen with surround sound, I would probably say Samsung if I was pushed!

Q: Favourite Film?

A: The Game Plan, 27 dresses, How to lose a guy in 10 days, basically any romcom that myself and the fiancé can cuddle up and watch together

A: X factor and oldies and Irish on 96fm with Derry O Callaghan.

A: Italian, chicken pesto linguine with pine nuts to be precise.

A: Milk

A: To hold down my place on the starting 15 with the intermediate footballers next season, it will be a tough ask what with all the young talent chomping at the bit but I’m still confident none are as good as me though!!

A: The footblock should be allowed to stop a goal-scoring opportunity.

Nicky Kelly

Player:Nicky Kelly

Q: What team(s) do you play for?

A: Mayfield Hurling & Football; Seandún; CIT and Cork.

Q: What position do you play?

A: Midfield in both codes at Minor level and wing forward in both Intermediate football and Junior A Hurling.

Q: Biggest influence on career?

A: Jimin Kelly, The Mother and Shane; Tony Hega and everyone involved in Cork, Seandún and especially Mayfield Gaa. I really like AJ Cronin too! Take that Shane Donavan!!

Q: What players do you admire (past, present)?

A: Terry Lotty, Kieran Brosnan, Joe Deane, Ben o Connor and Tom Kenny.

Q: Most memorable game as a player?

A: 2010 Junior City Final; U14 and U16 County wins; Cork Minor Championship game against Tipp and the best was the 2007 Minor quarter final game against Dillons in Ballinlough.... the only word to describe that game is EPIC!!!! 2-11 to 1-10 never forget it.

Q: Most memorable game as a fan?

A: 2005 Junior City Final; 2004 and 2005 All-Ireland Hurling Finals and this year’s Football final against Down.

Q: Hobbies?

A: Training and playing matches; Chillin; I love hillbilly’s too. I basically love chillin.

Q: Favourite TV?

A: Made and Sweet Sixteen on MTV; Simpsons and South Park. I love Jerry Springer too, legend!!!

Q: Favourite Film?

A: Stand by Me; The Goonies; Toy Story and of course The Lion King

A: Irish music, dance, actually anything really I just love dancing to music.

A: Mega meal deal in hillbilly’s, signature gravy is the best and Donatello’s on the odd occasion.

Q: Sporting Ambitions?

A: To play Cork Senior Hurling and play in Semple Stadium and Croke Park and more importantly win a Junior Hurling County with Mayfield... that’s the big one!!

Q: What changes in the GAA would you like?

A: I wouldn’t change anything but I do want plan B. It needs to come back in for All-Ireland Finals in Croke Park, big time!!!

Q: If you won the lotto what would you do?

A: Do what Hedge did; Get gear for the boys and give everyone a few grand to sort them out. Get suits for only the Junior A Hurlers as we be needing them. Rent out Croke Park for a few training sessions, that would be very nice. I would then give the rest to Aidie Greene, SPOOF!!!!!!

A: Past: Joe Deane, John Power, John Troy. Present: Gary Lehane, Keiran Brosnan, Terry (Granddad) Lotty, Pad Fitz.

Q: Most memorable game as a player?

A: First Start for Mayfield Junior Hurlers in Championship 2004. All Ireland fresher Intervarsity quarterfinal vs. UCD.

Q: Most memorable game as a fan?

A: Mayfield u16 County Final vs. Kilbrittan. Any of the Cork Waterford Munster Finals since 2000.

Q: Hobbies?

A: Hurling, Football, Soccer, Golf, Pitch & Putt, Swimming, Socialising

Q: Favourite TV?

A: Sparticus, Glee, anything on Discovery Channel.

Q: Favourite Film?

A: Heat, Last of The Mohicans, Training Day.

A: Everything really. Trad, rock, dance, house, 80’s the lot.

A: Win a Junior County with the current team. Captain a winning Mayfield side.

A: Pay for Play. Reduce the price of tickets to matches, especially club games. Better Referees.

A: Build a sand based floodlit pitch in Mayfield. Travel abroad. Buy a House in Queenstown New Zealand. Retire at 30. Take all the Junior Hurlers on a Holiday… oh and have a couple of sandwiches and drink vouchers for players in the club after a county semi final.
