Latest P.R.O. Notes 31st March 2008
• Mayfield u21’s had a hard fought victory in the quarter final of the u21 Football Championship versus St. Finbarr’s. The Barr’s led and half time but it was Mayfield who took the reins in the second half and Mayfield’s sharp shooter on the day was Choilm O’Sullivan with two clinical finishes in the second half. His two goals paved the way to this victory. Rob Furney was never troubled at full back and Choilm Bond at centre back was the man that started all the good moves for Mayfield. Shane Fitzgerald and Ian Looney were always in command for in the centre of the park and Shane Kelly and Patrick Duggan were constant treats to the Barr’s defence. The final result was 1.06 to 2.09. Choilm O’Sullivan proved to be Mayfield’s sharp shooter in his new role in the forward line.

• The Mayfield u11 had there first outing last Saturday in desperate conditions. The first match was against a strong Bishopstown the result wasn’t too important the fact that the Mayfield lads played so well was great to see. On the day Cian Doherty, Fergal O’Sullivan and Joeseph Mangan played very well on the day. The next outing for that team is next Sunday 6th April at home to Valley Rovers at 12 O’Clock.
• Mayfield’s Intermediates had a much improved performance last Sunday in desperate conditions at our home pitch . Unfortunately the result was similar going down 2.06 to 1.10 .Terry Lotty and Kieran Brosnan were outstanding throughout the game. Eoin Crowley and Roy Scannell tried hard throughout but the margins at the moment seem very narrow between winning and losing the thickness of a goalpost in this case. A missed penalty and missing a half dozen frees didn’t help Mayfield’s cause. All eyes are now on the Banisteoir.
• Lotto Numbers 3,13,21. No winner.
Next weeks prize money €1,400
