Latest P.R.O. Notes 11th Feb
Celebrity Banisteoir :Our three goalkeepers were flown over to Newcastle to get some coaching off Irish goalkeeper International Shay Given. It was a very worthwhile experience for the lads and we hope that they will reap the benefits of such as the year goes on. Gordon Strachan was flown specially in as promised by Gerard Kean, it was a great occasion for the club and players seemed to respond well playing some great football at times against a strong Killavullen team under lights at Mallow. Check out our photo gallery to see some famous sportsmen mingling with our own.

Junior footballers had a much improved outing performance wise last Sunday versus near neighbours Brian Dillon’s above in the Tank Field Unfortunately there are no points for performance but Dillon’s get the points for there finishing. Mayfield showed great fighting quality throughout the game but there lack of finishing proved there downfall. The team came back into a great game to draw level with two minutes left but unfortunately squandered there chance of victory by giving away a dubious penalty at the death.Dillon’s kept there cool to dispatch the vital goal. An excellent performance by all of the Mayfield backs especially Trevor Boyd, Ian Monaher & Trevor Daly shown for the losers. Up front Mayfield tried hard and players of the calibre of Roy Scannell and Paul Condon always created chances. If Mayfield had an accurate dead ball taker the game would surely have went the other way
